2017 Tax changes: deadlines reminder

Don’t forget the September 15, 2016 deadline!
In order to continue offering insurance products with non-taxable death benefits, the SSQ universal life multi-life policy type will no longer be offered as of September 15, 2016. After this date, insurance applications will be returned to your agency.
Also, as of this date, it will not be possible to make certain changes to universal life insurance policies.

ILLUSTRATION SOFTWARE
Effective September 15, the illustration software update (version 5.1) will be mandatory and will reflect the removal of the universal life multi-life policy type.
SAMPLE LETTER TO HELP YOU CONTACT YOUR CLIENTS
A new sample letter is available should you wish to communicate with your clients, especially those who would benefit from making changes to their policy this year. Take this opportunity to review their financial situation with them!
INSURANCE APPLICATION
The insurance application (FIND0035A) will be updated in January 2017. Considering the environmental impact, we will continue distributing the current version of the insurance application until then. Please keep using these applications keeping in mind the changes that will be allowed on universal life as of September 15, 2016.
