Last November, we made changes that are to your benefit and to the benefit of your clients.

GIF ENHANCED GUARANTEE (75/100) OPTION: IMPROVED DEATH PROTECTION

Your clients holding segregated funds want to protect their capital in case of death. The Enhanced Guarantee takes care of this need and many others. You asked, we listened: since last November, the death benefit protection is 100% for all contributions made under the Enhanced Guarantee, even if death occurs after age 80.

Your clients already invested in the Enhanced Guarantee (contracts issued since November 26, 2012) also automatically benefit from this new valuable feature.

Here are some other distinctive features of the Enhanced Guarantee:

• Your client will benefit from automatic resets of the guaranteed value upon death until his or her 80^th birthday.

• Your client will benefit from “on request” resets of the guaranteed value upon maturity until his or her 85^th birthday.

• The application date of the maturity guarantee is set to 15 years following the first contribution¹.

• The maximum age to subscribe is 75.

All investors want to protect their capital, even those who at first are not necessarily attracted by the maturity guarantee that segregated funds offer.

• For example, a business owner may not see the value add of a maturity guarantee and would rather focus on protection in case of death. The Enhanced Guarantee is all indicated in this situation because it allows to benefit from a complete protection in case of death without having to pay additional fees for the maturity guarantee.

• In addition, the business owner may also benefit from estate planning features and investments may be exempt from seizure by creditors², features which are unique to segregated funds.

TRAILER COMMISSION DOUBLES AT THE END OF THE BACK-LOAD SCHEDULE

Last fall, we announced that the total trailer commission (agency + advisor) for segregated funds with the back-load sales charge is now doubled, up to 1%, at the end of the back-load sales charge schedule. Sums invested as of today and sums invested since November 26, 2012, in admissible guarantees³ are automatically qualified.
