The standard commission on segregated funds is now applicable to the segregated funds’ portion of the ASTRA Equity GIA. The commission applicable to the GIA portion of the ASTRA Equity GIA remains unchanged as it is already the same as the standard GIA commission.

As of today, the new sales commission is applicable on all new ASTRA Equity GIA sales and renewals. The new trailer fee commission is also now applicable on ASTRA Equity GIAs purchased or renewed since November 26, 2012; however, it is not retroactive. No changes will be made to the trailer fee commissions on ASTRA Equity GIAs purchased or renewed before November 26, 2012. All other features of the product remain unchanged.
The ASTRA Equity GIA is a simple product that combines a Guaranteed Interest Account (GIA) with a guaranteed compound interest rate and segregated funds with a 100% capital protection guarantee upon maturity (10-year term) or upon death of the annuitant.
