Today, a major player in Canada’s financial services industry, SSQ Financial Group is fundamentally attached to (and faithfully upholds) the solid values that have guided its evolution over the years. Right from the start our company’s mission was to provide access to health care and services to less affluent clients. We continue to remember our humble origins and take great pride in maintaining our values throughout the decades.
OUR MISSION
SSQ Financial Group’s mission is to serve the interests of our members and clients by offering high-quality products and services to help them plan and protect their financial security throughout their lives, while drawing inspiration from the mutualist values that place people and social development at the very heart of what we do. These values are: mutualism (solidarity), accessibility, expertise, social commitment, integrity and respect.

At SSQ Financial Group, the expression of our values is more than just talk: it is a tool that guides our every move and every decision we make, no matter how small or large it may be.

Mutualism (Solidarity)
Our mutualist approach allows for the members of the Mutual to democratically elect the majority of SSQ Financial Group’s directors every year and thus have a real influence on the direction and development of the company. With a Board meeting attendance rate of more than 97%, board directors provide an eloquent testament to their commitment and their interest in their functions and the proper conduct of SSQ’s business throughout the year.
Accessibility
Despite our business growth, we strive to maintain top quality customer service whether by using state-of-the-art telephone systems that allow customers to speak to someone promptly, or via the availability of our representatives (... or advisors) who are eager to respond quickly.
Expertise
Thanks to our broad range of knowledge and skills, we offer quality products and services adapted to meet the needs of our clients. We employ qualified, committed and motivated employees who accomplish their work with precision and efficiency. Our expertise is based, among other things, on the long-standing experience of our teams and the processes they have established over the years. We also encourage lifelong learning to allow our employees to develop their full potential.
Social Commitment
Today, our growth and financial success encourage us to share. That's why we are particularly proud of our participation in the economic, cultural and social life of our community through the Foundation SSQ, by granting donations and sponsorships and supporting the volunteer work of our employees and executives. Integrity
Our strong commitment to responsible governance has resulted in rigorous practices that ensure the integrity of our management. SSQ Financial Group has established four standing committees that provide support to the Board of Directors. SSQ also has a number of policies on the compliance and evaluation of its directors, in addition to meeting or exceeding the standards set by regulatory bodies that oversee its activities.

Mutual respect is a fundamental principle upheld at SSQ Financial Group, both within the company and in our relationships with clients and partners. We are very attentive to new ideas and different points of view and in this light are committed to recognizing the importance of everyone’s contribution to the overall success of our organization.
