Fuel for Fire is a free professional development workshop that aims to address the unique challenges and institutional barriers encountered by writers who self-identify as people of colour.

Network with other writers, literary organizations and funders.

Join us for panel discussions on:

  • Writing and identity
  • Editing and publishing
  • Funding, residencies and jobs
  • Networking and community building
Space is limited.
  • Friday, March 24, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.: Networking event with keynote presentation.
  • Saturday, March 25, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Panel presentations and networking.

Travel Subsidies

Subsidies for travel and accommodation are available on a limited basis, for those who live at least 100 km outside of Toronto. Priority for subsidies will be given to participants from small, rural Ontario communities.

We cannot consider requests for travel subsidies received after the deadline of March 15. If you have a travel and accomodation request, please contact:
